About the tenth session of the United Nations Commission of Experts on Global Geospatial Data Management

In the show "Belgrade, good morning!", The tenth session of the commission of experts of the United Nations for global management of geospatial data was announced, in which the director of the Republic Geodetic Authority, Borko Drašković, MA, will participate. This event was announced by Marina Jovanović-Milenković and she explained the workshops of the project "Improvement of the investment environment in Serbia" are held regularly online, and the project represents an innovation in the field of geospatial data management.


Online Workshop of the "Improvement of Investment Environment in Serbia" Project

As part of the "Improvement of Investment Environment in Serbia" Project, a virtual workshop was held on June 11, 2020, on the topic: "Necessary information and elements on the website for monitoring and visibility of the ‘Improvement of investment environment in Serbia’ Project”, related to the Public Relations component and project visibility.

The workshop was held by Benny Andersson, an expert in the Department of Public Relations and Marketing Communication, Lantmäteriet, Kingdom of Sweden. The pilot Local Self-Government Units appointed at least one representative to participate in this workshop. The workshop was also attended by employees from the Republic Geodetic Authority engaged in updating the content on the website.

The workshop had two thematic units. The first was related to the topic "Concept of creating a website for monitoring and visibility of the "Improvement of Investment Environment in Serbia" project”, which was presented by Marina Jovanovic-Milenkovic, Ph.D., project coordinator, on behalf of the project team from Serbia. The second was on the topic "Presentation on optimizing the user experience" presented by Daniel Starnberg, an expert in the Department of Public Relations and Marketing Communication, Lantmäteriet, Kingdom of Sweden.

At the end of the workshop, the participants discussed and gave a positive opinion on the choice of topic, content and manner of holding the workshop.


Online Workshop Within the "Improvement of Investment Environment in Serbia" Project

Within the "Improvement of Investment Environment in Serbia" project on May 7, 2020, an online workshop was held on the topic: "Communication in Difficult Times", related to the component Public Relations and Visibility of the project.

The pilot Local Self-Government Units appointed at least one representative who works in the Department of Communications at the level of local self-government and who participated in this workshop. The workshop was led by Benny Andersson, Public Relations and Marketing Communication Expert, Lantmäteriet, Kingdom of Sweden.

The idea for the formation of the workshop came from the appearance of the Covid-19 virus, which spread around the world. At the beginning of the workshop, Benny Andersson presented how municipalities in the Kingdom of Sweden communicate during a pandemic. Afterwards, local government representatives discussed and commented on how their local governments communicated and gave advice to the population regarding measures and activities during the pandemic. Examples of best practice, support to the population and the economy are described.

At the end of the workshop, the representatives of local self-government agreed that they have at their level, in a short time adapted to the new way of communication via the Internet, accepted new communication channels, but that in the future we should consider improvements that can be achieved by applying modern technologies.


Capacity building of RGA employees within the "Improvement of Investment Environment in Serbia" project

A mission will be carried out in the premises of the Republic Geodetic Authority, which will last for five working days, from March 2 to March 6 2020.

The guests are a team from the Kingdom of Sweden, from the Agency for Cartography, Cadastre and Land Registration - Lantmateriet, in connection with the "Improvement of Investment Environment in Serbia" project.

In the upcoming days, they will hold relevant trainings and education for employees in order to raise the capacities of employees, and the project will be successfully realized in the domain of the technical component.


Workshop of the “Improvement of Investment Environment in Serbia” Held

Representatives of local self-government that are participants in the "Improvement of Investment Environment in Serbia" project gathered at the headquarters of the Republic Geodetic Authority on February 5, 2020.

This is the second workshop in a row this year, where local government representatives agreed on the description of data collection tools.

The workshop was led by members of the implementation team unit. During the discussion, participants asked questions and actively participated in the given topic.

A Workshop Within the “Improvement of Investment Environment in Serbia” Project Held

Representatives of local self-governments that are participants in the “Improvement of Investment Environment in Serbia” project gathered at the headquarters of the Republic Geodetic Authority. The workshop was attended by the director, Borko Drašković, MA, and on that occasion he said that the elected local governments should set the standard in terms of geospatial data management and investment locations.

Jan Lundin, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, addressed the representatives of local self-governments and expressed satisfaction that the Kingdom of Sweden supports the project Improvement of Investment Environment in Serbia and hopes that investments in Serbia will be made in the coming period.

In addition to the director and the Ambassador, the audience was addressed by Snezana Vojcic from the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden and Danilo Furundzic, professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade. They pointed out that they hope that this project will be as successful in the coming period as before.

Zoia Faraj, project team manager of the Swedish Land Mapping and Registration Agency, also addressed the audience via video call. She thanked everyone for their presence and the Republic Geodetic Authority for organizing the workshop and wished them a successful and productive day.
